A change to the Advocates
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Last month a proposal was tabled among the staff of X Marks.
The proposal was that we eliminate the title Forum Advocates and offer all our Advocates full Moderator status.
A couple of years ago the title of Forum Advocate was created as a way to honor those who have served this forum over the years. The position brought added staff to the forum and allowed us to publicly post Happy Birthday wishes and postings of other celebrations.
Three members of the forum were promoted to the position of Advocate.
davedove(Dave) - who has been a member since Apr '05
McClef(Trefor) - who has been a member since Aug '06
starbkjrus(Dee) - who has been a member since July '05
These Gentlemen have put many hours into making this forum the incredible place that it is today. Their voices have assisted and advised the Moderators, and I do not have the words to fully describe the total of their contributions to this forum.
The proposal to offer promotions to the Advocates was first brought for a vote among the Forum Moderators and it was a unanimous decision to further honor these men with full Moderator status.
The proposal was then made to the Advocates themselves. Two of our Advocates, davedove (Dave), and starbkjrus (Dee) felt that the additional time requrement and commitment was more than they were able to offer at this time.
Would you all please join me in thanking these men for the years of service and the dedication to this forum that they have shown.
Each of them will receive a "Retired Advocate" title bar.
Would you all also join me in welcoming McClef (Trefor) as the newest member of the Forum Moderators.
Well done, and thank you, to you all.

Just a point of clarification, but I have at no time been a forum advocate at Xmarks. I was a moderator from 2005 until December of 2008. I would ask that the above annoucement be corrected.

Congratulations to all, and well done!
