    Conversation with Steve.

Last night, I finally managed to be online at the same time as Steve, AKA Wizard of BC and was able to get him on SKYPE. WE spoke for half an hour or so (it used less than 10 Mb of my download allowance, Steve). A lot of the conversation was about the jacket I just ordered and the problems we've had getting together. Our emails just do not like each other. Some of it was some great advice on dressing with our kilts, Part of the conversation involved the forum and some of the new things that might be coming. I won't say what Steve said they might be, because that is the job of him and the mod squad, not mine. I also found out a few things about spammers and such. Even though I once saw dozens in our membership list, I still had no idea how much time and effort he and the moderators put into keeping them away from Xmarks. We owe all of them a big thank you for keeping the Riff Raff out. All in all, in spite of my poor internet connection, it was a fun and interesting conversation. Steve does certainly have the gift of gab.

I would like to add a *** to this. For those who don't have Skype - it is worth thinking about. It costs nothing apart from your normal internet costs. In the main, you don't need a webcam or a special phone or headset. If you use a laptop then most have a webcam and microphone built in.

This forum is our meeting place on the web, but there are times when a private or long conversation is called for. Then Skype comes into it's own.

    Regards

    Chas

    Cool!
Regarding the jacket... Is it Steve's 'modern style kilt jacket'? I love that cut, but that section of Freedomkilt's website is 'coming soon'.

I can't wait to hear about new goodies coming to the forums!

And about spammers, Steve and the crew do an AMAZING job here keeping those digital door to door salesmen away! Cheers and thanks to all for such an effort.

I may have to look into Skype some more.

Artificer, see the sticky. 1 kilt 10 looks at the top of the General Kilt Talk topic. The style of jacket that I ordered is like Glen's picture number 6.
