Free Kids Kilts to support a good cause--this needs more exposure
I am starting this thread because I believe that the current offer available in another thread on AltKilts below is probably not getting the exposure it deserves there:
http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f...-cancer-61498/
Regina is offering free kids kilts to whoever orders them, no strings attached, but will take donations toward a wonderful charity better described in that thread, all because her son Michael suffered through and survived a nearly three year course of therapy for Leukemia. I think awareness of this effort is worthy of the exposure from a General section post instead of being somewhat buried in the vendors section.
My wife and I have ordered, and donated, and commented, in large part because we both know, from different vantage points, just what Regina and Michael and their family have been through and continue to endure.
So take a look, read the story, and do what your heart tells you is right for you.
Good luck, Regina and Michael, with the venture.

I have ordered one as well, my wifes aunt having just survived cancer herself. Worthy cause.

A worthy cause indeed. Will have to follow up on this suggestion.

No child should ever have to suffer, or die, from cancer. I think this worthy cause deserves a higher post position than my aging poor "Kilted Golfer Denied ..." story which simply doesn't want to die, and probably should, so:
Bumpity bump for the cause.

This thread puts things very much into perspective, Jeff. Thank you.

I have a kid in mind but will have to wait at least until he can be stood up in diapers for the measurement, hopefully before the deadline. Tartan discussion with the mother is also in order; she married a beamish Scottish lad even though his always-in-the-wrong clan used to raid our cattle.
No argument with this cause that's for sure.

First off - great cause. Count me in!
I have to keep reminding myself to measure our two girls...I know, girls in kilts
Funny story...The first time they saw me in my kilt, they said "daddy, you can't wear a skirt, you're not a girl." My wife and I explained to them that boys/men wore kilts.
A couple weeks ago, I suggested that one of my daughters wear a skirt that was hanging in her closet. It was a purple plaid with box pleats. After she put it on and looked in the mirror, she told me that she could not wear it because it looked like a boys kilt! I then had to further explain that kilts only had the pleats in the back and that girls' skirts had them all the way around.
Side note: They both love looking over my shoulder and seeing the pictures on XMTS.

Truth in posting compels me to state that I'm almost certainly not gonna make today's deadline- baby mom has not provided the sizing, and also I did have a tartan kilt in mind for the kid-however I WILL make a donation to a similar charity in honour of this one.
