John has called a Kilt Night, as below:

Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 16, at 5:00pm, for the first SCHooligans (So Cal Hooligans) Kilt Night of the season. There will be one on every third Saturday of the month, until ????

WHEN: Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010 at 5:00pm

WHERE: Schmidy's Tavern 72286 Highway 111Palm Desert, CA 92260 (across from Tilted Kilt in the Ross For Less Shopping Center at Fred Waring & Hwy 111)

WHY: Why not? It's not as noisy as The Tilted Kilt, and the food prices are very reasonable. They have billiards, tall "stand up" tables, Guiness on tap, and assorted other ales, lagers, etc. Friendly staff, and the DJ doesn't start 'till 9:00p. This may be the weekend of their Octoberfest, so it'll get busy later, and we probably shouldn't have any pipers play this time......... any other time, most definitely!

Please pass this on to other kilt aficionados who would like to attend. Looking forward to a great season of Kilt Nights.

Not to thread-jack, but this reminds me. . . Bob and I have booked rooms in Palm Springs for the Thanksgiving holiday, arriving Wednesday night and leaving Sunday. Hope to meet up with some of our desert-dwelling friends while we are there!

Hi All, John is still shipboard in the Atlantic somewhere so I've been detailed to announce the November Kilt Night. This month we'll meet again at Schmiddy's Pub in Palm Desert Nov 20, 5pm
