    Orvis redeems themselves

OK - so you all (well, most, anyway) agreed that the multi-tartan jacket for $495 in the current Orvis catalog is particularly heinous (if you missed the thread, go to http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f...ld-wear-62574/)

Aaaaaanywaaaayyyyy, farther on in the catalog is a set of really nice tartan items. A bit pricey, but I'm going to order one in Air Force tartan for my husband in honor of our daughter the young lieutenant (soon-to-be-captain):

Have the Air Force, Navy, Leatherneck, and West Point tartans in that shirt. They're good quality.

The white buttons seem a little bit "odd." I tried using a Sharpie marker to turn them black but turns out not to be worth the trouble.

A good buy and the tartan looks even better in person than in the catalog. Hope she enjoys it.

Considering how many shirts Orvis will sell as a direct result of her having brought them to this forum's attention, I think they owe Barb a freebie...

Is that the shirt equivalent of white hose?

Thanks to the post Barb - will have to search their site more. Winters acomin' and need to get some new flannels myself.
