    Pleated to stripe and sett

I have an old Liverpool Scottish/Forbes kilt and I recently came across a Forbes pipers plaid pleated to the sett. Is it bad form to mix that with the kilt? I have seen art work where the pipers plaid is on the sett and the kilt is military. Any advice or comments?

I thought that the plaids were always pleated to the sett.

    Regards

No... they can be pleated to stripe or sett (preferrably to match the kilt when you're having it custom made).

That being said, I don't think it's a big deal to mix and match Sett vs Stripe on the kilt and plaid. So long as the colors are dead on, go for it.
