    2 New Kilt Pins

These are two kilt pins I just finished. One is deer antler with a cocobolo cap, and the other is cherry. These are my first attempts, so let me know what you think.

The antler is simple and clean...two things to be appreciated. I can't say that I have ever seen a wooden kilt pin, at least as far as I can remember. Interesting idea. Pretty cool.
The grass is greener on the other side of the fence...and it's usually greenest right above the septic tank.

I purchased a wooden kilt pin in Scotland that I wear with day wear attire. I believe it the kilt pin was sold as blackthorn, can't remember for sure though, but it looks pretty nice.

Fine looking pins. I like the antler one the best. How heavy is it?

I too vote for the antler - just enough to look rustic without going overboard.

    Cool indeed! Good job, Chaplain.

Check out The Kilted Carver's (Eric) carved wood kilt pins at From The Limb. I like metal pins, and non-metal ones as well. I think that most crafted pins have their own unique signature, and they can be quite distinguishing.

I'm not sure what its exact weight is, but it is considerably lighter than a typical metal pin.
