    A$$ over tea kettle

So here is my Christmas story:

A few weeks ago Rocky posted a few personal kilts he was letting go and I jumped at one. Since I do not yet have a pic of it to post, I have not mentioned it, but it is my new favorite, the fit is far and away the most comfortable I have (of three).

On the day of Chistmas eve my wife's family gathers early and stays until midnight mass. I wore the new kilt. When my college age nephew answered the door he said, "Nice shoes." I laughed, thinking of the recent thread here.

My mother-in-law, said "I love your skirt!", but she did it with such honest enthusiasm, that I did not correct her.

My sister-in-law scolded me for showing up at her son's recent wedding in pants. I had intended to wear a kilt, but my wife (not a huge fan of kilts yet) talked me out of it at the last minute.

Anyway, after a few hours of Jamesons and dinner, I decided I needed some fresh air and offered to walk the in-laws dog, a sheltie. My sister-in-law offered to go alomg with another dog, a german shepard mix.

I was wearing black dress shoes with slick bottoms and there was two inches of fresh snow, so from the start I was slipping and as we came around the top of a hill, I went A$$ over tea kettle.

My legs flew out and I ended up flat on my back with my kilt up around my hips. I think I was stunned for a few seconds, I remember just laying there while my sister-in-law kept asking if I was ok.

So, as I regained my senses, if not my composure, I pulled down the kilt, but she now knows the answer to the question.

About an hour after we returned to her house I realized my glasses had flown off into the snow when I fell and we returned to find them next the street's curb, in the fresh snow.

A bit later, as I went out a door I knocked 1/2 a cup of creamed coffe down the front of the kilt. I immediately brushed it off and grabbed a handfull of snow and blotted. When it dried, there was no sign at all that it had ever happened.

Later that night when I changed, I found I had tore the elbow out of my shirt and cut my arm in the fall. The next day I found my back and neck were none to happy either.

All in all, an interesting evening.

    KILT ON.

    I think you're bad luck.

It's good that the kilt wasn't damaged.

Trade you! I broke 3 fingers in the parking lot, as I was going ice skating. Set my ring finger while laying on the ground, splinted and taped them together, then went skating.

(yeah, us Macgregors are built tough)

I used to walk from work to my kid's baby-sitter's house. I had to cross the railroad tracks, one day I lost my footing and I was more concerned about my laptop in my backpack than staying upright. I landed on one knee and then onto my back. I cut the hell out of my knee and palm and I found out the next day, lost my cell phone. I looked for it the next day and could not find it. The following day there was a fresh layer of rock and there was no way I was going to find it.

Hope your back is OK. Take care of it right away if it isn't.
