The Jones is almost over for my Sgian Dubh

So I decided to design a very unique sgian dubh, and then presented the drawingto a local knifemaker. I wanted a knife that was a bit more functional than the sgian dubh, an "offspring" (so to speak) of a sgian dubh and a hunter/skinning knife... and chances are I'll be using it when hunting and when wearing my kilt.

Just got an email from the knifemaker, who has informed me that it should be done in a week, two weeks tops.

Wow! That looks great. Fantastic finish on the blade. Is that satin? If you dont mind me asking... What did it set you back? And will he use Stag antler for the handle. All in all.... well done.

Looks like a very servicable sgian. How's the balance on the blade, looks pretty good from here.

I won't know until it's in my hands.

The maker is Sandown Forge (www.sandownforge.com)

He will make pretty much anything you are looking for in full-tang knives. However, our own Drac here on Xmarks also makes knives and very good looking sgian dubhs especially - I picked this gentleman because I know him from another (firearms) forum and he is local to me as well.
