Dutch Friendship Kilt Arrived!!
First, thanks to Forrester Modern and his wife who scored the material and let me tag along on their order.
I've coveted this tartan ever since I saw Robert Pel in his.

For me, this tartan honors the many Dutch branches of my family tree.

I think this is my 69th kilt purchase. Material is 16 ounce Strome from Lochcarron Mills.

It was hand sewn by my kiltmaker, Kathy Lare. Her registration # 1387

Finally had a break in the storms with a bit of sun to kilt up and get some pics.
What is SO SAD, is that in the sunlight this is a much more colorful tartan than the digital camera picks up. The tartan is a fashion tarten intended to capture the fall colors of Scotland.
Seeing it directly in the sun it is a riot of tan, burnt orange, olive, navy, and lavender...just beautiful.
Guessing Forrester Modern's for himself and his son will be sewn up shortly...meantime, I think this is only the second Dutch Friendship tartan kilt in North America.
Happy happy happy.

"I'll have a kilt please, a nice hand sewn tartan, 16 ounce Strome. Oh, and a sporran on the side, with a strap please."
