OK, I Did IT!! I Pulled the Trigger!!
After mulling this over and getting feedback from several of you, I went ahead and ordered a USA Semi-Trad Kilt.
It's what I can afford right now and I'm looking forward to getting whenever they get done with it!!

Congratulations on your purchase and it's a great way to start, when your on a tight budget. Although I do not own a semi trad I have have only heard positive feedback about them.
Now, are you ready for the jonesing. Perhaps to help you with it you can get yourself a cheap tweed jacket at an OP (thrift shop) for $5-10 and have a try at modifying it for a kilt, also keep your eyes open for ties and shirts you might see as appropiate. Good hunting and welcome to the time of drooling
Shoot straight you bastards. Don't make a mess of it. Harry (Breaker) Harbord Morant - Bushveldt Carbineers

I'm really excited about it getting here that's for sure!

I went with the Black Watch instead of the Campbell Ancient. I'm kind of partial to the Black Watch with the darker colors, so that's how I decided. Maybe I'll get a Campbell Ancient later down the road.
Downunder Kilt,
I've already been shopping the thrift stores, as we call them around here. So the hunt is on!! lol !!!

Dang it! I was going to go with the Black Watch, but went with Campbell...I already have a wool tank in Campbell. Either way, great choice! Let the jonesing begin...

Not sure if you're being tongue in cheek here...you know that Campbell and Black Watch are two different names for the same tartan, right? Here are two good references, just in case:

Sharkman, you got the addiction really badly! There's only one cure -buy more kilts! You can now compare your "Black Watch" tartans. You're going to be happy with your USAKilt.

Congrats on the Semi-trad. Anything you get from USAK is good. I have several kilts from there and love 'em. PV is really nice, and will work well in San Diego weather...even in winter. Right now, I wouldn't mind being there. I didn't really like SD, but I HATE shoveling snow!
If you're shopping for shirts, belts, etc, hit the outlets in San Ysidro. When I lived in IB I would go there and get some screaming deals. It's a bit of a trip from Poway, but worth it if you're getting quite a bit of stuff. There are good second-hand shops all over Chula Vista, and a few really good ones in El Cajon too. If you go to San Ysidro, on the way back go west on Palm Ave and go all the way down IB Blvd to the water and grab some lunch at Woody's. It's about half a block south of The Plank(world famous squid bar!!). Or stop just west of Home Depot at Bravo's (turn around at Autozone and go back since it's on the south side of the road) and get a #12 or 17. Trust me, it's worth the trip!! Also, Santee used to have a few good farm stores where you could get a really nice wide belt for a good price, but I can't say if they're still open.
Have fun with your new addiction. Go Navy!!!
The grass is greener on the other side of the fence...and it's usually greenest right above the septic tank.
