My wife and I decided to make a trip to Denver a couple of weeks ago and had a great time. While there I/we received many positive comments on the kilt. We were having dinner Sat. at a nice restaurant in LoDo (lower downtown Denver) and just had our coffee delivered when someone tapped me on the shoulder. A gentleman said that anyone wearing a kilt and doing it so handsomely had to get a gift. He was the head of marketing for several single malt scotch labels and just wanted to tell me how great it was seeing someone in a kilt. He handed me a large snifter of Lagavulin 16 and he said that he was going to be doing a scotch tasting in Glenwood Springs in April and invited me to join the tasting. I told him that Glenwood was just down the road from where we lived and that I was planning on going to the April tasting. It's a fund raiser for a local charity and I've been to the last four. I am always amazed at the numbers of people who view kilts and kilt wearing in a favorable fashion. We finished our coffee and I took an extra long time savoring the single malt and the warm feeling I got from my encounter.
