Louisville Tartan Day
I tried a search and did not see any, still, I hope I am not duplicating a thread.
That said, what if anything is going on in the Louisville KY area on Tartan day?

I've heard a rumor that the Scottish Society of Louisville is trying to organize something down in the Portland neighborhood. (They've asked a couple of members of the Louisville Pipe Band to play for something, but the details on exactly what, when and where are a little scanty at this point.)
Since Louisville doesn't have that large of a Scottish population (it's more German, Irish and American mutt - multiple mixed ethnic heritage - than anything else), there hasn't been anything formally organized around here since the first National Tartan Day was enacted (that I'm aware of, but I've only been aware of it since about 2002).
From what I can tell, just by talking to folks I've met at the Games, there's more people of Scottish ethnic background out in the Southern (Barren County & that area) and Eastern (Knott, Perry, Leslie Counties, etc.) parts of the state than in the Louisville area. A Census demographic may show a different concentration, but that seems to be where the Scots roots are.

Hopefully I will be kilted at some point on the 6th, but not sure if I will be able to pull the kilt for the whole day at work as we are running short staffed this week and I actually have to work, with patients, besides major meetings all day.
Sandy and I were talking that we were due for a kilt night soon, however, and Saturday the 16th works great for me if that fits anybody else's schedule.

I'm up for one. Saturday the 16th is Thunder, though... that might be a problem.

There goes silly me, not aware of what else is going on in his own town. But I guess I am allowed since I have only been here two years. Unfortunate it will have to wait until after Derby, but then I am not available until the middle or possibly end of June--early July. Uggh. Busy schedule--lots of travelling.
If others want to work out a date I will see if I can make it, and if not ces' la vie' (how does one say that in scots gaelic?).

Finally found it here:
Mar sin tha beatha.
As far as a meet-up date ... April 23rd would be OK with me, though that's Easter Eve. The 30th would also be OK. Trouble is, I can't afford to eat out right now (no income). That may change by then.

Easter Eve won't work for me. Can we gather on Saturday the 16th for a late lunch? Or Friday the 15th in the evening?

Not to hijack this, but it seems like it is difficult to find an outing in Kentucky. What's going on here? Anyway, I will be in Louisville May 17 and 18. I would be in for a drink or other meet up on the preceeding day, May 16. Or after my convention on the 18th. I am happy to host or join a group in Lexington anytime

New to all this but my social calendar is very flexible. I would love to have a meet and greet any time. I am just outside Frankfort.
