Hanging Gardens
Page, Arizona is up on a mesa and down at the base of the mesa there are seeps. One in particular has a lot of water, enough for a small watering hold for the local wild critters and a wall of hanging plants. Its only a mile round trip but its uphill both ways and on "slickrock" sandstone and deep sand. Once there its a lush oasis in the high desert.
Hiked out there today - wasn't as lush as I thought it would be. Actually, the dry sandy parts had more wildflowers - red, purple, orange, white, and yellow ones.

Wore my 11 ounce Macdonald Lord of the Isles from Lochcarron, hand sewn by Kathy Lare.

This is the view from the high ground looking North to the Colorado River Channel of Lake Powell and Utah in the distance.

Here's the destination. Guess it'll get lusher as it warms up. Small pool for the critters is just to my right, left in the pics. Can't see it well since its level with the ground.

Wow - makes me want to go back and see the scenery again (I haven't lived in AZ since 1985). The scenery and the kilt are both nigh on to perfection. Thanks for the pics!

That's nice, Riverkilt. Wildflowers.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…
