Yet Another Dallasite
How's it going folks?
The name's Brendan and I've recently started wearing my first Kilt (Irish National from USAkilts.com) and just purchased my second (U.S. Navy Edzell from Sportkilt.com). If I could, I'd wear them to work. Well, I suppose I could, I just wouldn't remain employed much longer. There is no accounting for taste I suppose. Oh well.
Anyway, I was born and raised in Providence, RI and my grandparents taught me to appreciate my Celtic heritage (which leans more to the Irish than Scottish, but I digress.) I've brought that pride with me every where I've gone, from serving in the Navy, to now settling down in Dallas.
My fiance recently indicated her interest in going to Renaissance Festivals on a regular basis, particularly the three major Texas Festivals (TRF, Scarborough, and Sherwood Forrest). That's when I finally bought my first kilt and I am in the process of slowly putting together my costume, with the Kilt as the center piece of course. I'll post a picture once it's done.
Well, that's my story. If you see me at one of the Festivals, or a local Dallas Pub, I'd be happy to raise a glass and sing a few songs with you.
