New Goodies!
I just got home to a few packages in the post and on my porch. This is my attempt at a sort of economy kilt outfit.
I received a Stillwater Kilts Heavyweight Kilt in Black Shadow tartan, two pairs of 'hoes' (black and dark green) from Sock Dreams and two sets of traditional garter ties (red and yellow) from the Scottish Tartans Museum Gift Shop.

As soon as the SO gets home, I will post more pics of the clothing on me, but I hope this holds you over until then.
You may notice there are some creases on the kilt from shipping. Anyone have suggestions of how to get those out easily? I currently have the kilt hanging in the laundry room while I have a load of towels in the dryer on the highest heat setting...

I'm interested in seeing how the Sock Dreams hose work out. They look like the ones I bought from Hamilton Dry Goods. At $8 a pair or three pair for $20 they're a real bargain for casual hose but the color selection is limited to say the least...though I got around that issue with some Rit. If these hose are as good I'm sure I'll be ordering some tonight.
The grass is greener on the other side of the fence...and it's usually greenest right above the septic tank.

Allen,
These are the ones you see in my image above. I also had an issue with colour selection, which is why I ended up with only black and hunter green.

It really is quite neat. I just finished pressing out the few wrinkles it shipped with and can't wait to get pictures of it in good light. It's a funky black on black tartan that is both subtle and interesting.
I may wait to take picture until tomorrow evening. I just got the word that my jacket conversion is completed and I'm picking it up at lunch tomorrow.

Yep. Those are the ones I had been eyeballing. There are only three colors with HDG. Hope they're good!

Ok, I couldn't wait
I decided to go ahead and take some quick photos of the outfit without the jacket, so here you are. These aren't the greatest photos in the world. They were taken with a smartphone camera.

Nice look! I have the green SWK shadow tartan, which I quite like. It doesn't get as much wear as my clan tartan kilts but hard to beat for the money...

I have the saffron. I love the whole shadow tartan thing. It's awesome! I also really like my Sock Dreams hose. I have a few that I use for summer wear. They look great with hose toppers from Big Mikey.

that's a pretty good smart phone camera for it to pick up the shadow tartan. I have one, but it is way too large for me. it will be going up on the for sale page in the near future. I can't return it because it was a custom length.
