    Playing around in LA

    Hi all,

Amy and I went out to SOCAL for vacation last week. Spent a few days in Coronado/San Diego and than up to Disneyland/LA for a few days.

During than I got a chance to meet with Sydnie7, her husband Bigdad1, Calico and his wife for lunch -

Played around Coronado and San Diego for the weekend. Going to the Cinco de Mayo party in Old Town (on April 30th), the Zoo and Gas Lamp for fun. Plenty of pics, not many kilted though.

Headed up to Disneyland for the rest of the week. First night was theater night for Burn the Floor (to ballroom the way Riverdance is to step dancing) up on Hollywood BLVD. That was kilted. While up there we went to a very unusual bar across the street from the theater. Served kobe beef burgers, truffle fries and homemade sausage. Really good. Amy got ticked off at a woman who kept trying to catch my eye. Finally she held up her hand raised her eyebrows (like asking a question) and pointed at her ring finger. Since she wasn't wearing a ring I quess she asking if I was merried.

Falls into the power of the kilt

Wasting time walking up and down Hollywood BLVD doing the tourist thing of taking pics of the stars on the sidewalk. Got a lot of fist pumps on the kilt. Stopped to take a pic at Hollywood and Vine, seemed like the best place -

Like I said, took a lot of pics (over 800) but these were the only two in a kilt.

    Jim

    Looking good!

Did you go kilted in Coronado? I used to live on 10th Street (before I wore kilts) and I have been wondering a lot lately of how it would have gone over while living there. I suspect well, but was wondering about your experience specifically on Coronado...it's such a small place that if a local was regularly kilted, I suspect everyone would recognize him and just move on.

I wish we still lived there, I would have loved to have pint with you at the Coronado Brewing Company!

Glad you enjoyed your SOCAL trip. Thanks for posting the pictures!

There is even a kilt shop right in Coronado, so wearing a kilt there shouldn't raise many eyebrows.

This is not a recommendation of that shop.

Having grown up in San Diego county, I'm trying to remember any time when I saw someone kilted. At any rate, glad you had a good time and the weather is almost always nice to be out in, especially Coronado. Good times!
