    Braveheart Meets Wonderwoman!!

During my lunch break I had the opportunity of a photocall with Wonderwoman at the Braveheart statue.
My only regret that I was not wearing a kilt, perhaps the Argyle Jacket counts as kiltwear!!

The occasion was the Glasgow Southside Festival and I was on my lunch break, spending the day crewing the city council's fleet of vintage buses, ferrying passengers to and from the event. Glasgow Corporation ran its own municipal bus fleet until 1975, thereafter the buses were operated by Strathclyde Regional Council until 1996 and thereafter became privately operated. In recent years Glasgow City Council bought back a few of the city Corporation's old buses to provide a vintage fleet for special events.

An archive shot from last season. I found the kilt impractical for clambering in and out of the driving cab so this season I have been wearing black trousers with my Argyle jacket. When I regularly travelled on these buses to and from Glasgow University as a young law student 40 years ago, never could I have predicted that after 35 years in the legal profession I would return to Glasgow to drive the same buses.

Each bus requires a two man crew, we take turns as driver and conductor, this is a view from one of my conductor duties last summer.

Wonder Woman and on the bus

    Great photos!

Seeing the old bus reminds me of my childhood toys I had from the UK.

Seeing Wonder Woman reminds me of my teen years and my brother's comic collection. My oldest brother had a crush Ms. Linda Carter when she played the role on TV.

    Such wonderful memories.
