Unexpected Kilt Hazard - Fried Eggs
So out for a jaunt with a ladyfriend and we come to a beautiful overlook. Stop to take pictures. Of course the best pictures are on the far side of the guardrail.
Now its a hot summer day and the guardrail is metal, and by coincidence almost the same height as my inseam. Do I think of this while planning the pic of the view? - of course not.
Stepping over the guardrail kilted I'm on tip toes to clear it - but the boys are at maximum distance from home in the hot weather and they brush against the sun baked, grill hot, metal of the guardrail.
Now I'm extremely aware of my situation and do a sudden yelp and tip toe dance to get my trailing leg over as fast as possible!!
And of course she's laughing and declining first aid while I grimmace and groan.

Wow, open the tread thinking that maybe a kilt was damaged but unexpected flying cooking grease. Never would have imagined that being a better alternative to what really happened. May we see the picture so we can see whether the results of your effort? Not sure about the proper sentiment for the occasion??? Maybe, condolences on the injury, and hopes for a speedy recovery, but somehow that just seems wrong. I wonder how they could word the warning sign for the danger without risking offending those of too sensitive of a nature??

Does Arizona have a Good Samaritan law? In some states, bystanders are compelled by law to come to your assistance when tragedy strikes.

Ha Ha Ha I too thought you had some unfortunate run in with cooking grease splatter. I actually think that might not have been that bad compared to what really happened. That just plain sucks. Grab a bag of ice and a cold one and relax. My condolences for your laddies.

Ron the lengths you go to in order to provide us with great photos is truly outstanding.

Since it's been over 100 degrees every day for a month here deep in the piney woods of East Texas, I'd call this very timely advice. Thanks for the ,, um,, heads up. However, not thanks for the "visual." LOL!
