Question I need a idea (pyrography)

    Ok lads/lassies

Some of you have seen my pyrography art work. I want to do another one Scottish/kilt related. I would like to avoid one with a persons full face in it. I just did one for a trade with a XMTS brother and I had to get books DVDs and really practice a human face to get it acceptable.
(if he reads this and wants to post a picture please feel free)
After finishing that I started a Native American piece and well long story short I want to take a break on faces for the next one.

So anyone have a suggestion on what I should do next? This is for my personal use so I'm not worried about copyrights and things like that.

    Here are some past works.

My first one ever. Done over 11 years ago.

This one was done 10 years ago

    Some Scottish ones

Robert Burns done with a old old pen

    Boba Fett

And the one I'm currently finishing

Again, does anyone have a suggestion on what I should do next?

    Cheers

    Nice!

Really amazing work Cowher, I remember thinking the same thing the first time you posted them. How about a landscape, either from your home state or one of the beautiful scenes from the Highlands of Scotland? Perhaps some of our Highland members can submit some photos for inspiration.

    Again, great work!

Maybe a full dress piper in the Highlands or in Loch Ness?
    Which tool do you use?

This is one of the great Scottish icons... The Forth rail bridge, Edinburgh.

Picture borrowed from the Northcraig Cottage B&B website

Love your work by the way, really impressive.

    *** on that.

That's one of the things I was looking for info on when I discovered kilts in the first place. It was a bit of a disappointment to find that the Scots who came to settle in the New World were mostly lowlanders and didn't typically wear them, and those that did were pretty much military and weren't likely to drop out to go trapping.

Well following on from the Scots mountain scenery suggestion, how about?

Ben Nevis, the UK's highest mountain and in the heart of the Highlands.

Or, a castle? Eilean Donan Castle.

Or, a monument? The Commando Monument, Spean Bridge.

Or, an Abbey? The Abbey on Iona.

How about a landscape in the background with the edge of a kilt and knee and top of hose in the foreground (off to one side of the pic)? It would give you an opportunity to practice tartans and maybe a kilt pin and sgian dubh top.

I also really like Jock's Castle idea. I am partial to Urquhart castle (on Loch Lomond) or Castle Stalker (Stewart castle near Ft. William).

If you are looking to do a kilt, but don't want a face to bother with, how about a piper from behind, or a kilted gent strolling towards a castle?
