    Upper Antelope Slot Canyon Kilted

Another trip to the slot canyon with visiting family. You gotta see this place to believe it. The light is incredible but it messes with the sensors of a digital camera so I just shoot a bazillion pictures and hope a few come out - and a few do.

All views of the rocks are looking straight up.

Getting off the truck that hauls you a kidney busting three miles up the sandy wash to the slot canyon. USA Kilts semi-trad in Caledonia tartan.

Inside the canyon with my visiting family.

With my little sister from Ohio

The flash floods that carve the slot canyon create the waves on the Navajo Sandstone rock.

The guides say not to use a flash but I find sometimes a flash gives a great picture.

Sometimes you need flash to make the picture come out at all.

What a lovely natural work of art! And fine outing for family. Thanks Riverkilt. It has a slight feel of Petra, in Jordan!

Some of the best point and pray camera shots I've seen in a long time. Absolutely stunning landscape; well worth the 3 mile kidney buster (or so says the guy who hasn't taken the ride). On a side note; if you make a trek to visit the sister in Ohio let me know where, and we'll see if we can set-up a kilt night meet and greet with some of the local rabble.

Upper Antelope slot canyon is located on the Navajo reservation in Northern Arizona a few miles outside of Page, Arizona "Across the street" from the Navajo Generating Station a coal fired power plant run by the Salt River Project. Or if you're looking at a map its pretty much at the center of Arizona's norther border.

Sis is a professor at Oberlin and lives there. Someday will get back. Funny I can't stand the humidity and she was missing it - didn't like the dry heat. Go figure.
