Couldn't fit everything in the pic, but the wedding is finally within reach.

3 Montrose Doublets, with a bit of custom work done at the manufacturer, a fly plaid, some diced hose, some solid hose.... and 3 pairs of those dreaded ghillies. Nearly as quickly as I unpacked them and tried mine on, they were rushed off to the tailor for some last minute alterations.

Hats off to Scotweb for coming through. Aside from a bit of a communications mixup with a lady who doesn't normally handle orders, I couldn't be happier. Just about 2 weeks in advance after the manufacturer delayed delivery on the doublets a couple of times, it was much better than the one day in advance I originally heard about. I spoke with customer service folks a couple of times at Scotweb, and they were both very friendly and helpful. They even upgraded my shipping to overnight to make sure I had time to get these ready for the big day.

The only criticism I have of these doublets, is Xmarkers judged them too harshly. I had read stories about being unable to move in these things and being on the brink of a heat stroke at all times. As I recall, one gent even said the heat is so bad, he wouldn't wish it on his worst enemy. I put mine on and pranced around outside in direct sunlight, with the temperature being 94º, and didn't think they were all that bad. No worse than dress blues, really, and I could (and have) wear them all day. With the added freedom/airflow of a kilt, I'm sure these will be just fine... especially considering my reception is in an air conditioned building.
