Tucson fire & police honor 9/11 heroes, victims (lots of pipe & drum video)

My report on Sunday's fire and police 9/11 remembrance ceremonies includes a video featuring several different songs performed by the fire department's pipes and drums:

Tucson fire & police honor 9/11 heroes, victims

In a trio of commemorations, Tucson's firefighters, police and ordinary citizens paid tribute Sunday morning to the heroes and victims of the terrorist attacks of a decade ago.

While the nation marked the 10th anniversary of the attacks that destroyed the World Trade Center, set the Pentagon ablaze and saw an airliner crash in a Pennsylvania field, Tucsonans gathered for somber observances of their own.

At Fire Central, firefighters remembered their lost brothers by tolling a bell three times.

At the TPD headquarters, three volleys were fired by police riflemen.

And at Reid Park, after remarks by dignitaries and the singing of "God Bless America," a flyover by a pair of Arizona Air National Guard F-16s set a crowd of hundreds cheering.

The Tucson Fire Department's pipes and drums accompanied the color guard at each ceremony.

The video is an hour-plus, and features three different ceremonies at which the Tucson pipes and drums appeared.

That is awesome. I was down in Tucson over the weekend at my old home church, Casas Christian Church, had a huge tribute with a piper in the middle of the service! The local fire/police station also came and had all their different vehicles out front for the people to enjoy. The church also donated money to several different stations.

We had a piper at our memorial service at the town square. David from SAPD played Amazing Grace and did a wonderful job. A very sobering event.
