Speeding Up Browsing - IE v Firefox
Since Internet Explorer migrated me to IE9, some internet pages are now intolerably slow to load, notably xmarksthescot home page and also pages on this site which have photos.
My computer's self diagnostics advised me that I could save an average of 24 seconds on each page loading by removing the Google tool bar which I duly did but still some pages are slow to load, almost as bad as the old days before we had broadband.
I tried an experiment and timed how long it would take xmarksthescot home page to load and it took a few seconds over four minutes before the page was fully loaded and capable of scrolling right to the bottom. Time to go and make a coffee while waiting for xmarks to load!
I've tried accessing xmarks on other people's computers using Firefox and the pages load almost instantly. How would I go about getting rid of IE and getting Firefox onto my computer instead? Also have other members found that IE is much slower in loading this site in comparison with Firefox?
