Fantastic New Years
Went out for dinner on the 31st and got a lot of complements as we were all kilted, except my 4 yr old. Me in MacLeod of Harris Ancient, wife in Royal Stewart and eldest in Scottish National Pride.
2 groups of African people were very impressed.
Went for a walk in our local wildlife and activity centre park on the First. Again myself and our eldest were kilted.
Got loads of complimenst and spent about 15 minutes talking with an old couple as they were wondering what tartan we were wearing. Turns out her husband had bought her a Hunter Ancient plaid for Xmas - her first piece of tartan.
Saw many smiles and no bad experiences either time. Made the New Year even better for us all.

Sounds like you had a wonderful time, and it's experiences like that which make wearing a kilt so special!
Unfortunately, you didn't post any pictures, so we have to assume it didn't happen.

Re: Fantastic New Years
Your eldest looks great - he should definitely be encouraged to wear a kilt often.

Re: Fantastic New Years
Thanks Chas.
He's really taken to his adopted heritage and wants to wear the kilt any chance he gets. He even wanted to wear it to school yesterday!!!
I am one VERY proud dad.
The sporran which I still need to put tassels on, and flashes were made by me as Xmas presents, and the kilt pin he's wearing - the 'safety pin' type, was his great grandmothers from around 1920.
We're intending to go to the Harrow & District Caledonian Society meetings as often as we can, and he'll be wearing his outfit then and he's already said its the first thing he's gonna pack for our trip back home this August.
