Apparently it's been a while since I last posted

I received a message on the forum bringing to my attention it's been a while since I posted, although I visit daily. I guess I haven't had much to post or reply about because other things have been on my mind.

My father passed away Christmas morning, and I had to make a last minute rushed trip to his out-of-state funeral. I've been trying to be more social by joining a local costuming group. Not only am I making good friendships and having fun, it's helping push my comfort boundaries and sewing skills/goals. Although it's a blast, I am trying to keep a cap on what I sew for budget and sanity reasons... I don't want to do crappy rush jobs, or focus on projects I really didn't have an interest in doing (this costuming group covers all sorts of topics, while I have main interests I focus on). I would like to sew a kilt for Christopher, but am unsure if it will be this year or next (and yes, I'll work on a kilted skirt for myself if I have enough time).

Sorry I've not been as active here. I really don't have anything to add right now since there is understandably so much on my mind. I hope you have all been well. Best wishes to you all for 2012.

It's always nice to come across your posts, Cynthia. Sad to hear about your father. Good luck with the sewing.

    Hey Cynthia,
I've been following you on G+ and keeping up... my sincere condolences to you and your family. It's always a rough time to lose a close family member, and much more so when it's around the holidays. As you know from our discussion on G+, I lost my uncle the day after and it was pretty surreal.

If you need anything or feel like talking, just let me know.

Thank you so much, everyone. It really means a lot to me.

I am sometimes bad about updating G+, sorry about that! I go through phases, depending on what I'm doing or which social media I end up on more. I'll try to be better with that one, as well as at least trying to post here a little more often.

    Best wishes
