Hello from northeast Ohio, US
Greets, everyone!
I've had a chance to poke around these forums over the last couple days, and I must say, I am impressed both with the knowledge and manner of the people on here, and with the depth and breadth of the information I'm finding. Well done, all.
After doing some research, and years of only dreaming about it, I've committed to a kilt purchase. I've decided to go with a made-to-measure Prince Charlie package with clan accessories from Scotweb, with all the trimmings, for a formal look, as well as a jacobite shirt, belt and clan emblem buckle, day-wear sporan and other accessories to mix and match, for less formal occasions. All built around a 16oz. Buchanan Clan Tartan (Modern Colors) from Lochcarron.
Additionally, I've selected the beautiful Hostess Skirt, Sash, Jabot Blouse, a Straight Skirt, and sundry items, in 10oz. Gordon Tartan (Modern Colors) also from Lochcarron, as a gift package to my best friend Lisa (raised in the U.K. though now living here in the U.S.), as a bit of "home" for her.
She and I will be going to a local tailor this weekend to get measured for everything, and after we decide on one or two remaining items, we'll be placing our order next week.
"Sam" (last name unknown) at Scotweb has been very helpful answering my questions, as he and I went back and forth for a week in emails, and I cant tell you how excited I'm becoming over this.
I hope that days will come soon enough, when I myself can begin contributing something of genuine value to the discussions on this forum.
Again, this looks like a terrific forum. Props to everyone involved.
Ken
