    Running in Circles

Probably just me...but asking just in case.

When I'm on X Marks and want to go to another site on my favorites bar I click the icon for that site. Nothing happens. That little circle thing just goes around and around.

Once I'm on XMarks I can't get to another site by clicking on an icon on my favorites bar. I have to close X Marks and go to another website and then click on the favorites bar icon I want and it works fine.

Been happening for a few weeks now.

Using IE and no I'm not changing...just is.

Thanks, figured it was me. I'm using the favorites bar though, not the drop down.

Barring anything going on with your machine it is possible that it could be a network problem. I was checking the internet traffic report and a few days ago most of the US was seeing problems.

I know it's not much help with all the variables but just some info. Hope it gets better!
I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature's ways of fang and claw or exposure and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow. - Fred Bear

Try opening a new browsing tab (click that short little tab segment to the far right of any open browing tabs) before going to your favorites and you should be able to open whatever you want without closing (just hiding) xmarks. Alternatively you could always just open a whole second IE browser before going searching elsewhere, like your favorites. Saves having to back track with the back arrow a lot. Lastly you can always right click over a favorite and choose "open in new window" to get a second browser windoe to open without closing the one you are in or navigating away from it.

    Happy hunting.

AHA! You have been caught in the X Marks secret plan to keep you here. You can never leave. Never. We have your number and we have set up this super secret system that holds you till you turn blue.

Seriously Ron, I know of no reason from the X Marks side that would cause this.

RK, my internet has been ridiculously sluggish for about 3 days, especially in the PM hours in Albuquerque.

Could be the site you were trying. I've been having issues with one other forum I frequent not wanting to load consistently.

You may have an add-on that is... irritating IE. Try going to Internet Options, Advanced tab, and resetting IE to defaults. Depending on the settings, it may reset your home page. Also, if you have any toolbars installed, they may not work correctly.

Well, it didn't matter what site I chose, got the same endless circles. Only way was to shut down X Marks and start from scratch with the favorites bar link. Was doing that right up until the upgrade.

Good news - whatever was causing it has gone away and with this upgrade I can go where I click with no lock up circle thingie.
