Kilted in Portland Oregon
A lot of in-jokes but at 1:20 a kilted man gives directions...

Ahhh ha ha ha ha ha. Being from the Portland area, I can safely say that this is very accurate.

Where's the rain??
Gotta say...I left in '65 and haven't been back....looks like it was the right move.

If you hadn't, today, you'd be riding around town on a bicycle. You would also be bemoaning the defense of the Trailblazers (basketball), the offense of the Timbers (soccer) and the qualities of the various micro-brews available in town.

Re: Kilted in Portland Oregon
I do miss the old Portland Beavers on Vaughn Street....Frankie Austin at short, Eddie Bashinski at second...
Remember well what downtown smelled like when the brewery cleaned the vats....
I bicycled around town on my old Schwinn - mostly carrying newspapers in the wee hours of the morn.
Boozin' back then was Olympia...don't think they had microbrews then...finally got sober before I died so would pass on them now.
And the rain...the endless drizzling rain...like living in a cloud. Know folks wore kilts to the highland games and in parades...but in the few months of summer.

Well, the old brewery blocks that you and I knew from our youth are gone. They've been replaced by shops and apartments.
Many of the micro-brewers also offer fare other than just alcoholic. For example, the Lucky Labrador has a wicked ginger ale that they brew, which pairs well with the soup and sandwiches offered in their brew pub (on SE Hawthorne near 9th). Widmer Brothers have a good root beer and delicious food at their Gasthaus on Interstate, near the intersection with Russell, (about a 5-10 minute walk from Memorial Coliseum). So, one doesn't have to be into the beers to be able to debate the pros and cons of the brewers. ![Wink](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)
Alas, the weather has been the one thing that hasn't changed that much.

Also, the Lucky Lab brewery is a big time supporter of the Dove Lewis Emergency animal clinic. And, oh btw, it's raining out today.

I woke up to about 1/2 inch of snow this morning. It had pretty much melted by mid morning.
