Jungle Camouflage Casual Kilt
Jungle Camouflage Casual Kilt,
http://www.scotweb.co.uk/products/ju...e-casual-kilt/
Does anyone here have any experience with this kilt?
Does anyone have experience with COTTON kilts?
I am looking for something for hiking and casual wear but I am not sure how this will hold up.

Re: Jungle Camouflage Casual Kilt
I've never seen them before, but I like them. I've got 2 cotton/canvas kilt from UTKilts.com. I like them as an alternative to doing outdoors stuff in my more traditional kilts. There are tons of companies that sell modern or casual kilts for the purpose you're looking for. My kilts hold up very well for hiking. The pleat edges are sewn all the way down, so they'll hold up all day. If you can use a washer and iron shirts, you'd have no problem with the care.

Re: Jungle Camouflage Casual Kilt
Was/am a camo kilt junkie....thought I'd outgrown it but just bought two more....hopeless, helpless. Never had a problem with any. My first kilt was a camo since I thought the "macho" image might cut down on the flack I had no need to fear.
I've had Utilikilts Woodland Camo in Original
Utilikilts Sage digital Camo in Original
Utilikilts Desert digital Camo in Survivor II
Pittsburgh Kilts Forest MARPAT
Pittsburgh Kilts Desert MARPAT
Freedom Kilts Desert Camo
Freedom Kilts CADPAT
AmeriKilts Tiger Stripe Camo
Always wanted a camo kilt in the British woodland(?) camo pattern. Almost bought one early on from Geoffrey (Tailor) Kiltmaker.
They've all been good. I've enjoyed wearing them all. Only suggestion I'd have is be sure you like the pattern/style of the kilt and that its made from a reputable kiltmaker.
Never any problem with the cotton or cotton/poly blends.
Camo kilts are fun to wear. Best comment I ever got was wearing a camo kilt with a Marine t-shirt in the supermarket. A man stopped me, and with all seriousness, asked if the Marines were issued kilts now.

Re: Jungle Camouflage Casual Kilt
I have this very kilt (purchased from Scotweb in July 2004 and is No.38 in my Kollection) and was more than satisfied with it. I say "was" because 2004 was rather a long time ago and my girth has expanded alarmingly since then! Both the quality of the fabric and the tailoring are first class making the wearing extremely comfortable, especially in warmer weather.
The matching sporran is still available from Scotweb and makes an interesting, completely informal, accessory.
I highly recommend these items.

Take care,

Well if Ham's testimonial doesn't say, "Buy Buy Buy!!" nothing does. Go for it!
It looks MUCH sharper on Ham than on the model.
Damn...now I want one too.... I do so love/hate this addiction....

Agreed! So with Ham's kind permission, you'll now find his fine figure there too! I've also taken the opportunity to go back to the original images (from our very first photoshoot, in 2004) and improve them a little using more modern editing software, so they're not quite as rubbish as before.

Nick,
Are the pleats sewn down on the camo kilts?

They're made to the exact same standards as all our casual kilts, which means sewn down on the upper part of the pleat to give it shape but loose thereafter to swing. So if you're worrying that they might be like some of the cheap and badly shaped imports kicking around then rest assured, it's the real deal, made to measure in Scotland.
If you need further details I'd suggest contacting our customer service team who are best placed to advise on precise specifications.
