GreatHighlandwear.com-Avoid at all costs
Hello to all,I am new to the site.I joined becasue I saw an old post asking about a site named Great Highland wear.
Today March 31-12 I finally received a refund from Paypay for an order placed 2/9/12.It never arrived.
All attempts to reach a person at the above site went unresolved. They insulted me and said it was my fault the
order went undelivered.
All in all it was a mess.I was told the order went to New York? I live in Arizona!
So beware. The prices are way to cheap to be real.
I ordered a kilts from USA Kilts(Rocky is great) a few weeks before my 2/9/12 order to GreatHighlandwear.com.The kilt arrived exactly on time!It was a custom kilt too.
So if you want to save alot of time and money do not use this site.
Thanks,
Irish Lass.

Thanks for the tip. They are quite well known here for their shady dealings and there are several threads condemning their dubious business practices. Always good to get more input though.

Back when that first thread was active several people had mixed interactions with GHW, a couple got some free stuff as part of some gone-wrong orders in attempt to maintain goodwill, a couple people orderd and got what they ordered, but were middling impressed with the quality, and many complained about missing orders and terrible service. I was one of the latter whose order (a couple inexpensive bonnets---a trial order to test the system) never came through, and after getting nothing but lip service, after an appropriate period of time I cancelled my order and payment, and promptly recieved a nasty email about cancelling the payment from GHW, despite the fact that they had not processed or mailed my order. Imagine to my surprise when 6 months after the cancellations, a package shows up on my door containing the two bonnets---really not of good quality fit or finish. One email to GHW inquiring as to how to proceed got no response, then another a week or two later, got a return response of "Oh just keep them. We screwed up our order process at our end and sent them out belatedly by mistake." I checked into return shipping and discovered it would have cost more to return them than to either just keep them or toss them in the rubbish. Three months later I recieved a paper invoice requesting payment for the two bonnets, at a higher price than originally ordered, and with exhorbitant shippping added on (was supposed to be free shipping at the time of original order. Emailed response went unanswered, and I have ignored them since. Rubbish pile called out for the invoice and was obliged. I have not worn either bonnet since, and the rubbish pile is calling again. Will probably eventually instead make them a forum "who needs a cheap........" gift for cost of postage only to some needy kiltie, although am somewhat reluctant to drop such poor quality on anyone else.
