    Tartan ID help please

Just picked up two pieces of tartan off Freecycle.
    Can anyone identify them?
    This is: red/thick blue/pale blue/white/pale blue/gold/pale blue/white/thick pale blue/reverse.

    This is: mid blue/very thin black/mid blue/red/orange-brown/very thin mid blue/red/dark green/blue/black/reverse

The first looks familiar but I can't put a finger on it just now whereas the second piece is a bumbee sett i.e. a fancy trade check and not a proper tartan. Note the fact that the colours don't repeat in the warp and werft.

Rocky - just checked on Scotweb, and looks like you got it spot on! The hanger from the shop just says 'Scotts', which completely threw me as its nothing like anything with that name on Tartan ferret!

Figheadair - its a very material, so I'm sure the wife won't mind.

The Tartan Ferret from the Scottish Tartans Authority website also allows you to search by colour. However, when I tried it with your sample, I came up with nothing. Still, good to remember for next time.

I had the same problem with the full, non-public, version. Strange until I looked at the coding and for some bizarre reason the white is coded as grey (as is the case with many other setts with white)l and one there needs to use 'A' and 'N' i.e. ANAYABR as the sequence!
