Perth Kilt Run 2012

The Perth Kilt Run took place last Saturday as they had accepted a challenge from Perth in Ontario to exceed their number of 1089 kilted runners.
The challenge has until 2016 to be beaten, the 200 year anniversary of the founding of Perth in Ontario.

Unfortunately their Scottish counterparts were unable to muster that number, falling short by a few dozen.

Perth,Ontario, is about 30min drive from where I live. It's a very pretty little town and very proud of it's Scottish heritage! Many of the towns and villages in this area are named after towns and villages in Scotland, or after famous Scots.
I think this friendly competition is grand!

Mrs. Crash and I are entered in the Perth Ontario event. Part of our get back to fit program. I think there are 1700 registered for the event.

Makes one wonder why similar events aren't organised by St Andrew/Caledonian Societies round the world.
