Morrison Red by D. C. Dalgliesh Ltd., 998 vs. 933
Nick,
While viewing options for the Morrison Red tartan on the Scotweb site I noticed images of custom weaves by D. C. Dalgliesh are rendered from tartan number 933 rather than 998. I understand 998 is the variation recognized by the Lord Lyon and I have seen pictures of the late Chief of Clan Morrison wearing what appears to be 998. Some customers who are not aware of these two variations of the Clan Morrison tartan and the story behind their existence may be caught by surprise when they eventually realize their kilt has an extra green stripe.
You might consider showing 998 as the default to match the recognized variation. Those knowledgable on the subject who really want the double green stripe would presumably know to ask for 933.
I am not an expert on this subject so it would be best to check the facts of my observations.
Hope all is going well with your efforts to keep D. C. Dalgliesh afloat.
Rick

Good catch Rick.
Just a point of understanding, I don't think Lord Lyon has an investment in tartans, I believe it is the Clan Chief who has authority over clan specific artifacts.

My information regarding the green stripes comes from the following link.

The Lord Lyon refused to alter the apparent mistake that had been "registered" with the Lord Lyon. The word "recorded" is also used in the story. So it appears you are correct, the Lord Lyon was not acting as the decider but once a preference was recorded he was reticent to allow its reversal.
