    Knotty - MacLean Grey?

Ive always thought it would be very kewl to have my own tartan. With that in mind, I thought I would play with ScotWebs tartan designer.
This is what Im calling the "Knotty" tartan. It is the MacLean of Duart with color changes.

The goal was to retain the feel of the MacLean of Duart tartan while using the look of the Black Watch Weathered (somewhat).
I changed the green with brown (I dont think the brown isnt quite correct, it might to be darker), red was changed with grey & light blue was changed with dark red.
    What do you think?

Very attractive. I would wear it no problem.

Sanx, that makes me feel better.
How do you feel about the balance of the brown/grey? To my eye the brown needs to be a bit darker.

For me it looks well balanced, the brown and gray compliment each other very nicely.

I have changed the colors very slightly by switching to "weavers colors".

I have also created a new tartan I call MacLean of Duart (grey & brown) muted. The white, yellow & blue are not as bright.

Have you looked at the Tara/Murphy tartan? It's the same concept: start with the Maclean of Duart tartan and fiddle with the colors...
