    Kilties in Santa Barbara

Hey all, I know i havent posted here on quite a while but life has had me by the tail!!! I find myself flying to Santa Barbara on Monday for work and I will be there till Fri afternoon. While my days are going to be spent working, my nights are (should be) available. Are there any of the Rabble in the Santa Barbara area ( I will be around the State St and Alameda Padre Serra area) who would like to get out for an impromptu meet up in that fabulous kilted style!

    Let me know.
I know this is short notice, but so is this trip. I have till sunday when I start packing, so Should i bring a kilt or not. If i bring it I want to see fellow kilties in the same

Well I am one of the 80. The reason I looked yesterday was because I have a cousin who lives in Goleta and I have in the past been out and about kilted in Santa Barbara.
However at present I am many miles away from you, back home in Scotland, so sorry I will be unable to meet you. Enjoy your trip, and if you meet any other xmarkers be sure to post some photos.

Pack and wear your kilt anyway. You will have better experiences with it on.

Chas is 100% correct. Pack it and wear it. It will make for a much better time.

I agree. I found that the kilt was an excellent conversation starter in Santa Barbara and never received any negative reaction.

For ease of transport I am going to take my utilikilt with me. I have a small bag that I am taking and I don't want to take the tartan one with all the accessories at it needs

You may want to rethink that KR. Utilikilts are a dime a dozen here in California and nobody is going to think twice about it, whereas a nice tartan kilt will definitely get some attention. If you don't want to pack it then wear it on the trip out here.

Well it will depend on the suit case i take with me. If i take a tartan kilt, then i need to pack a sporran , hose, shoes,...... the whole 9 so to speak. I really dont care if I am a dime a dozen. I dont wear my kilt for people to comment on. I really wanted to meet a few local Xmarks folk on the west coast. Well I fly @ 730 tomorrow AM( Mon AM) so the UK is in the list for now
