Will Trader Joe's carry kilts?
I stopped at a Trader Joe's grocery store yesterday...I found out a couple of weeks back that Trader Joe's is owned by the same company that operates the Aldi grocery stores here and that is, last I heard, the same company that operates the lidl stores in the UK. As I was checking out, I was talking to the young man about the connections between the stores and how Lidl has carried inexpensive kilts for Hogmany in Scotland. He expressed interest and mentioned that he was thinking about getting a leather kilt. I smiled and said, "Got a piece of paper? Write this down: Xmarksthescot.com. Go there and join up and you will get ALL the information and opinions that you will ever need about where to buy yerself that leather kilt and links to several vendors who can hook ya' up." So if the young fella shows up here, make sure he's welcome.
And that's why this forum is a good thing....when somebody expresses an interest, all ya' gotta do is tell them, "Xmarksthescot.com....all ya' need to know."

AA: Good work! I hope the young man takes your excellent advice. Maybe we'll hear from him soon.
My son and his family were in Chicago this weekend and are heading up to Holland, Michigan today. They seem to be having a great time, so far.

I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

If I'm not mistaken. Holland, Michigan is now home to distinguished Xmarkser A-Hay. Fortunately for the Chicago Rabble, Tom is really good about coming into town for the odd meet-up...hope to see him over the holidays. Glad the family is enjoying the trip and I hope you lived it up when you were here.

If Trader Joe's did carry kilts, could they be at the same price point as Lidl? I hear those things are cheap as borscht.

Aldi and Lidl are both German companies but they are two different companies.
Both Aldi and Lidl have grocery stores in Scotland.
Lidl sell budget kilts seasonally but I have never known Aldi to sell kilts.

If Aldi started selling kilts, would you have to pay the 25¢ deposit?

When given a choice, most people will choose.

Rival companies.
We don't have an Aldi in my home town but we have Lidl, which stocks a range of household goods as well as a wide range of groceries produced in the British Isles and the European continent, including a variety of speciality foodstuffs from Germany such as Bismarckhering, Nuernberger Bratwurst, Stollen, etc.
