St. Kilda
Dear all,
One of our pipers had good luck with St. Kilda, any other opinions? AND, does anyone have a website for St. Kilda in the US? My friend saw her at a festival, ordered his stuff right then, and does't remember her email/webpage...thanks everyone, and Merry Christmas!

Please be very careful here. You are actually talking about two completely different companies with different records of quality and customer service.
"The St. Kilda Group" is based in Glasgow, Scotland and is one of the largest suppliers of Kilts & accessories in the world.
"St. Kilda USA" is a completely different company, run by different people, and is not associated or connected with the Glasgow group.
For example; If you purchase a jacket from St. Kilda USA that says inside "St. Kilda". The jacket was actually made by St. Kilda Tailors in Leeds, England for the St. Kilda Group in Glasgow. It may be sold to St. Kilda USA, and then re-sold by them, but St. Kilda USA also buys jackets from other makers and re-sells them too.
The St. Kilda Group of companies is the umbrella over Gaelic Themes, maker and supplier of Clan Crested items and R.G. Hardie bagpipes.
St. Kilda USA broke away from the St. Kilda Group many years ago, but kept the name because it was so well respected.
I know this sounds confusing and it is. So caution and information are the key.

My St. Kilda "USA" experiance could have been tragic. I survived it thanks to advice from a someone on this site that contacted his bank for a refund on the purchase. The USA outfit's website was out-of-service for an extended period of time. I was unable to contact the seller even with the email address I had at the time. The order was weeks overdue when I contacted my bank for a refund on the debit card purchase.
I'd concur with Steve's missive that the Glasgow group is reputable.
My potentially tragic experience with the USA folks may have been an anomoly as I cannot speak for others.
I’ve had good luck with Burnett’s & Struth, J. Higgins, Highland X Press, Hendersons, Celtic Croft, and Scotweb.
