What size for a fly plaid?
I purchased some F&K tartan (Ramsay New Blue) to make my next kilt. I got 4 metres of double width fabric with the specific intention of making a fly plaid to match. I have found that 6-7 yards (single width) is adequate for kilt on my body size. (Even my Scottish made tank only uses 7.5 yards at the most.) So this begs the question, with plenty of fabric, what would be the ideal size for a fly plaid?
I am 5'11" if that has any bearing.
