If this has been discussed before, please refer me to the post.

I'm trying to determine the resulting look from pleating the Black Stewart tartan to the various stripes:

Pleated to the white stripe in the centre of the tartan, will yield a predominately reddish kilt viewed from the back.
Has any one tried the other stripes:

Blue
Green
Black (between yellow and white)
Yellow

I know you can pleat to any stripe you want, but as Barb T. said in her book, just because you can doesn't mean you should. Which stripe to pleat to should be determined by:

1. The desired resulting appearance.
2. Overall aesthetics of the kilt.

I am looking to get a kilt in the mentioned tartan, pleated to one of the stripes and I'm looking for suggestions.

Thanks
