Cool Guess what weather I got for my first kilt-wearing day?

EDIT: Thanks to the admin that fixed the title.

I just recieved my Stillwater's kilt (Black Shadow tartan in heavyweight), and I decided to wear it today to visit my fiancée, but the weather wasn't what I expected for my first time
Anyway, I've felt very comfortable and warm, so it's not a big deal.
What do you think of it? (I know I'm not in traditional suit, I'm just planning to wear it casually, and YES, I know my sporran is crooked, I couldn't see it when the picture was taken).

    Hi Kinth,
Excellent. We have the same weather as you just now so you look every inch a Scotsman in Scotland.
    I assume your fiancee approved!

I see nothing wrong with your outfit at all. I get cold legs, so I would have worn hose covering my lower legs. Otherwise, looks A OK to me.

    Regards

    Hi Kinth,

Very nice. Just one little comment: put on hose! It will make it more complete.

Actually my fiancée thinks it looks like a "schoolgirl's skirt"

For the hoses, I don't have any, and moreover, I think it wouldn't be as "discrete" as normal socks when worn with my military-style boots. And as I'm very thin, my flashes cover more or less one third of my leg, I think it looks quite strange.

Black wool hose w red garter ties will bring warmth and a dash of color. Great look and welcome to the kilt wearing days!

I think the two of you need to have a very serious discussion before the wedding day!!

Indeed. I actually got the permission to wear a kilt during the ceremony, as long as I can play the bagpipe at the same event... So I keep practicing

    I agree with Chas.

It is not essential to wear hose and flashes. An ordinary pair of long walking socks or soccer socks will keep your legs warm. You can make your own garters from wide elastic which do not have any flashes attached, or some soccer socks have an elasticated top and are self supporting.
