Ladies From Hell Kilt Club, Denver Chapter
Some of you that know me know that I love kilts and what they stand for. I have a tendancy to speak my mind in a rather scattered manner. For that, I am sorry.
With that said, I was messing around with PowerPoint today and got this crazy idea. What if I could promote a new club in the Denver area, promote kilts, and learn all at the same time? With that in mind, I went to work. http://www.lynott.us/bw.html has a powerpoint link towards the bottom. I was hoping that a few of you would take a look at it and let me know what you think. Remember, I am a novice with powerpoint and I have a tendancy to be all over the radar with thoughts. With that said, please email me at allenlynott@comcast.net or drop me a line here with your suggestions.
Cheers,
Allen

Okay Allen,
you asked for it. It looks quite good, but is lacking some meat in the middle. It seems like you're frustration towards MSM and the bravehearts vs. freestylers arguement is carried over. In Education you mention that kilts are men's garments and we are not cross dressers. Of course we aren't, but if it sounds like you are arguing it, people wonder why. Solution don't mention the negative. Focus on the positive. Most people see kilts as strong male garments. The layout is nice and the menu is nicely layed out, but it does take up a fair bit of the page. I would be inclined to ditch the menu, and just have arrows to the next page. You doesn't really give a history for the Ladies from Hell. Have a look at Kilts R 4 guys' (from Tom's) site at www.geocities.com/lfhchiHe lists a large amout of history about kilts, the name, and the organization. You want to inspire pride within people in order for them to want to join. Again focus on the positve. If guys think they will meet resistance they are less inclined to do it, but if someone is telling them all the great stuff first men can be persuaded. Oh, and a few different pictures (do Google search there are tons) would be nice. Having the same photo blurs the line between pages.
All in all a good presentation. Powerpoint can be difficult and frustrating, but it is easy once you get the hang of it. Keep it up.

I hope I didn't come across as harsh. It was a good presentation. I have had to create and edit quite a few Powerpoint presentation in the past 2 years. Of course I get ripped out by teachers who have seen it all. C'est la vie! Looks good though. How many members do you have so far?

Trust me, my feelings aren't even dented. I have rather thick skin. I asked for suggestions, and I got 'em. I changed a few things around, per your suggestions. I have to put together a history blurb and post that. I have spoken Tom in Chicago via email several times. He's a great guy and he did outstanding work on his site. In the links section of the LFHKC, is his site.
Cheers,
Allen
