    Brooches & Balmoral Badges...... Help

I would like to know the proper protocol for a Fly Plaid Brooch and A Balmoral Badge.....

I think that as far as a fly plaid goes it is really whatever you like, is it not?
Your Balmoral badge should be your clan badge?

I would prefer a British General Service Corps / Regiment Cap Badge, it just looks nice I think, but then again I didn't not service in the military So I do not think it correct to wear one Even if they were issued during the 1st World War.

    Any thoughts?

Personally, I wouldn't wear any military insignia that I didn't earn, even if old and non-current, as is likely the case with the WWI insignia.

For the hat badge, there are many choices: your clan's badge, any of a myriad of decorative badges, or, perhaps, the Xmarks badge, a nice one indeed. Sorry, but I don't know much about plaid brooches.

You can wear what ever you want , but A Fly Plaid is mostly for formal events ie weddings

and a general rule of thumb is to never wear a Military badge not earned.

as for a cap badge , there are alot of badge to wear , personal perferance.

I wear a Clan Badge with the clan Livery colors behind it and a X MARKS Plant badge on
    top

But I understand about wanting to wear the Military badge as I too like them , But I
    Just dont do it .
