    Tartan Day at Ardenwood
    Saturday, April 6th
    Ardenwood Historic Farm, Fremont, CA.

Things are coming together. We have a good array of musical acts, and will see the Red Thistle dancers and the US Pipe Band Association competition folks, again. There are some really great vendors signed up, including Stumptown Kilts and Jen Delyth (http://www.celticartstudio.com, as well as Sportkilt. New craftsman, James Satterlee will be there with his UN-believable tooled leather targes. Living History will be represented with the Thistle House clan from the Isle of Man, the Gaestetae Romans, and the Dark Boar Vikings, among others.

Clans are starting to sign up, I know that MacFhearchair has signed up the Farquharsons, and Clan Cian will be in attendance. I expect about 10-12 clan tents - just got a verbal "yes" from the Cunninghams this weekend.

We'll have a mess of athletes, including a good bunch of throwing' lasses. MacFhearchair will be gunning for the field record in the sheaf. I'm pretty sure that my field record in the sheaf, for the Masters will go down on Saturday. We start off the day with a half-hour workshop from Open Stone World Record Holder, John Davis. The Heavies will clear out the field at lunchtime and there'll be a 4-on-4 shinty scrimmage.

When the little ones in the family get tired you can take them over to the farm to see the new lambs, or visit the blacksmith shop. It's a great day!
