Question for Bear.
Well Bear I have a question. What is the diferance, or how dose the 4-6 yard Kilt Differ from the 8 yrd?
Are the pleats deeper? I guess I just dont see how it,s posible to cram 8 yards into a kilt. Maby it's just for biger lads? Please excuse my ignorance.

Lance,
Deeper pleats plus smaller outside pleat size is the main difference.
If your outside pleat width is 1/2" to 3/4" wide and the pleats are 4" deep, you'll be surprised how fast the fabric gets used up.
Different tartans measure the pleats differently because of the sept. (Pattern) Some would use 6 yards for a kilt for me. (41" hips.) Some would use 8 yards.
Does that help?
