    Jacobite!

A couple of weeks ago I did a photo event with my Jacobite group at a castle in the UK. My first outing in Jacobite kit (I usually do English Civil War) so it was interesting to see how the kit would stand up to the conditions. It was freezing, and we had quite a lot of snow.
One of my favourite pics, thankfully taken inside the castle!

Outside in the snow! With the plaid hanging down, my legs were quite warm.Bringing it up and wrapping it around my shoulders as seen occasionally gave me a bit more protection on top, but was not worth the freezing wind on the back of my legs! Click image for larger version.

Re enactment is not all glamour! Clearing snow from the carpark before the event. The plaid is a practical item of clothing.

Very well turned out. Looks like you needed every inch of wool you had.

Excellent pictures, and wonderful to get an understanding of how period clothing would do in actual weather.
