Incase anyone is interest I ran across a wool Newfoundland Tartan material at a fabric outlet warehouse in Dallas. It is not marked and I had to do an internet search to find out which tartan it was. I'm still learning the wool weights but it is pretty heavy and the help there was not any help! I believe it was marked at $10.00 US a yard. I will be going back in a few weeks to check for some other fabrics. If your interested please let me know. They will cut a small swatch if it's under $12.00 a yard.

They are a warehouse outlet so it's not possible to get it except in person. There are some other wool tartans there but nothing I recognized easily. I plan on doing some digital shots next time to try and identify them as it's a hit and miss situation.
