It's the media, it's a kilt
Link to an article in my local newspaper.

This is not a post to solicit funds or favour but to show that even in the heart of England, wearing a kilt can make people notice.

Of course, the Halesowen tartan and the Halesowen 2 tartan were designed by one of our members -Philip S. Tibbetts - who happens to be a very nice chap!

Way to go Stuart; nice article about your 51 days fund raiser. I've been following it on FaceBook and have really enjoyed your updates.

Simon Fraser fought as MacShimidh, a Highland chief… wrapped and belted in a plaid over the top of his linen shirt, like his ordinary kinsmen. He put a bonnet on his head, and stuck the Fraser emblem, a sprig of yew, in it. With the battle cry, A'Chaisteal Dhunaidh and the scream of the pipes, they charged to battle. "The Last Highlander" Sara Fraser

I knew you must be from GB with that quote.
I have been in touch with Philip, he kindly offered to lend my either the Halesowen or The Black Country kilt for my adventure, but I am rather more portly the he is so had to decline. I like the Black country tartan and Paul Henry made it for him. I am saving up my pennies in the hope I could have one as well.
