Hose advice

I have recently purchased a couple pair of hose, both wool blends.
One set of cheap, W.Brewing & Co and a set of nicer Scottish Highland Wear.

I like the weight, feel and look of the SHW allot more than the thinner WB's.
Although with the added thickness, all my shoes feel a 1/2 size to small.

Are there any hose on the market that tapper at the feet allowing a full look but give me feet some room?

Hose tops maybe? They don't have feet.

I've never heard of any such hose. While it's nice to have all-purpose shoes, we have learned to buy Bob shoes 1/2 size larger for wear with kilt hose. . . especially with my hand-knits, which tend to be bulkier than commercial.

It's a great idea to buy the shoes half a size larger, especially since most people tend to wear shoes that are too small. I did that too.

I was hoping you gents wouldn't say "bigger shoes".
I wear a US size 13, finding anything larger/half size "off the rack" is a pain in the ****.

Thinking I will look into a shoe stretcher untill I can afford a pair of proper Ghillie's

I find it is usually the width not the size that is the issue. Most shoes are a regular or "D" width. Try a wide or E or an EEE.

Fortunately my size 13's are because my foot is 12.5 and they are almost impossible to find. I have the extra room for thick hose.

Check to see if the is a cobbler or shoe repair in your area. They may be able to help.

Or, you could try the cowboy method. Soak a pair of leather shoes in water. Put on thick socks and walk in the shoes until dry. Once dry treat well with leather conditioner.
