    New Kiltmaker

I've heard some very good things about this kiltmaker. George Mckay retired recently after 25 years in the British Army. His last post before retiring was Senior Master Tailor for the Household Division. He was also "Master stitch" to the Scots Guards. He is a member of the Guild of Master Craftsmen.

He is established in the North East of England.

His kilts come with a lifetime warranty (whatever that means), are only hand made and are reasonably priced.

Thanks for the link. I've bookmarked him. Bugpiper on eBay used to use an ex army kilt maker and his kilts were superb.
The Kilt is my delight !

Looks interesting. What are the "old and rare" knife and box pleats that he is advertising?
Si Deus, quis contra? Spence and Brown on my mother's side, Johnston from my father, proud member of Clan MacDuff!

I suspect the "old and rare" refers to a range of tartans by the House of Edgar, which are usually a little more expensive than other tartans in their ranges, not any sort of special pleat!
